2021 Game Notes

Alex Stoner had a double for the Monarchs sole hit and scored on a wild pitch.  Kamira Botos reached base on a walk.    

Carly Bertolini pitched a completed game in the loss, giving up no earned runs with 3 strikeouts.  Sofia Hurst and Alex Stoner had the only hits for the Monarchs.  Haley Wilwerding and Alex Stoner each reached base on a walk.  

The Monarchs got back in the win column thanks to a balanced attack at the plate, and good pitching in the circle.  Carly Bertolini had 2 strikeouts in 4 innings to earn the win.  Grace Anderson threw the final inning in the first game on a hot day.  Neither pitcher allowed a walk.  Emmie Wills and Kamira Botos each had 3 hits and 3 runs.  Alex Stoner, Sofia Hurst and Kloey Hamblen each had two hits.  Other hits by Haley Wilwerding, Kaylee Pinneo and Kaelyn Hamblen, who  picked up her first varsity hit and RBI.  Kloey Hamblen had a triple, 2 walks, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Botos had 2 doubles, a triple, a walk and 3 RBI's.   Stoner hit a homerun and had 3 RBI's.  Hurst had a triple, 2 runs  and 2 RBI's.  Other runs were scored by Eden Ford, Emma McGrath, Wilwerding and Stoner.  RBI's by Wills and Morgan Byrd.  

Carly Bertolini threw a complete game with 4 strikeouts and 0 walks for the win in the circle.  The Monarch bats stayed hot in another strong game at the plate.  Haley Wilwerding had 3 hits including 2 doubles, 2 runs and 3 RBI's.  Alex Stoner had 2 hits including a double and a triple with a run and 2 RBI's.    Kloey Hamblen had 2 hits including a double, a stolen base and 2 RBI's.  Eden Ford had a hit, a run and a stolen base.  Emmie Wills also had 2 hits including a double with a run scored.  Kaelyn Hamblen hit her first varsity homerun with 2 RBI's.  Sydney Kotz added a stolen base.  

Grace Anderson threw a 1 hit shutout with 7 strikeouts to earn the win in the circle, and added a double at the plate as the Monarchs won their third straight game.  Haley Wilwerding had two hits, a stolen base, a run and an RBI to pace the Monarch hitters.  Kaelyn Hamblen hit a homerun for the second consecutive game and had 2 RBI's.  Emmie Wills had a triple and a walk with 2 runs, a stolen base and an RBI.  Emma Mcgrath had a hit with 3 stolen bases and 3 runs scored.  Kaylee Pinneo had a double, a walk and an RBI.  Sydney Kotz had a hit and a run scored.  Morgan Byrd had a hit and a walk.  Morgan Stock had a stolen base and a run and Brooklynn Sargent had 2 stolen bases and a run scored in their  first varsity appearances.  Alex Stoner had the Monarchs other hit.  

Game postponed due to rain and rescheduled for September 23rd

Carly Bertolini threw a complete game shutout with 6 strikeouts.  The Monarchs picked up only two hits off the Crusaders pitcher, with the final one being a 2 run double in the bottom of the 7th inning by Kaelyn Hamblen, scoring pinch runners Sydney Kotz and Maddy Delos Reyes for the win.  Kotz and Delos Reyes were running for Haley Wilwerding and Morgan Byrd who had both reach base on walks.  Emmie Wills had the Monarchs other hit.  Alex Stoner reach base twice on walks earlier in the game.  

The Monarchs managed only 3 hits in the loss, but finished as the runner up in the annual Metro Conference Tournament.  Alex Stoner and Haley Wilwerding each had hits, with the other by Kyla Warden who picked up her first varsity hit.  Emmie Wills reached base on a walk.  Grace Anderson pitched a complete game and had 7 strikeouts in the loss in the circle.  

After hitting a pinch hit 2 run homerun in the 5th inning, Kyla Warden hit a game winning single in the bottom of the 7th inning as the Monarchs came behind for the win.  The Monarchs came back from a 5 run deficit to tie the game in the 5th inning and a 1 run deficit in the 7th inning.  The homerun was Warden's first on the varsity.  Warden had 3 RBI's in the game.  Kaelyn Hamblen led the Monarch hitters with 3 hits including a double and a run scored, while Kloey Hamblen also had 2 hits, including a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI's.  Kloey also made two great defensive plays by throwing out two runners at the plate from center field.  Maddy Delos Reyes had a timely base hit bunt single in the 7th inning.  Emma McGrath, Alex Stoner and Haley Wilwerding also had hits.  Stoner also scored twice and had an RBI.  Morgan Byrd had an RBI.  Eden Ford and pinch runner Morgan Stock each scored a run with Stock's being the game winner.  Grace Anderson started in the circle striking out 9 in 3 1/3 innings.  Carly Bertolini picked up the win in relief with 4 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.  

Alex Stoner hit a first inning homerun to account for the Monarchs only run.  Grace Anderson pitched 7 strong innings giving up only 6 hits with 8 strikeouts.  Morgan Byrd had two hits with the other hits being by Kamira Botos and Eden Ford.  Sydney Kotz had a stolen base as a courtesy runner.  

Eden Ford and Emma McGrath each had two hits to lead the Monarch hitters.  Other hits by Alex Stoner, Kaelyn Hamblen and Kloey Hamblen.  Stoner had three stolen bases, a walk, 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Kloey Hamblen had a double, a stolen base, 2 RBI's and a run.  Ford had a double, a stolen base and 2 runs.  McGrath added a run and an RBI.  Morgan Byrd had a walker and an RBI.  Haley Wilwerding had the other RBI.  Sydney Kotz picked up 2 stolen bases and a run.  Carly Bertolini, who had 1 strikeout, and Grace Anderson both pitched  with Anderson picking up the win in relief.  

Alex Stoner hit a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first inning.  Kamira Botos had 3 hits including 2 doubles and an RBI.  Haley Wilwerding had a hit and a stolen base.  Sydney Kotz scored the other run.  Morgan Byrd reached base on a walk.  Grace Anderson and Carly Bertolini split the pitching duties.  Anderson struck out 4 and Bertolini 1.  

The Monarchs scored 10 runs in the first inning enroute to a victory over the Patriots.  The final runs of the inning came as the result of a grand slam homerun by Haley Wilwerding, who also had 5 RBI's, 2 runs and a stolen base.  Emmie Wills had 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBI's and ended the game with a 2 run homerun in the bottom of the third inning.  Kloey Hamblen and Maddy Delos Reyes each had a hit, an RBI and 2 runs scored.  Delos Reyes also reach base on a hit by pitch and Hamblen reached on a walk.  Other hits  by Kaelyn Hamblen, Emma McGrath and Morgan Byrd.  Alex Stoner walked and scored twice.  Other runs were scored by Sydney Kotz and Sofia Hurst.  Carly Bertolini earned the win in the circle and struck out 4 hitters.  

Maddy Delos Reyes had 3 hits with a walk, 2 runs, 2 RBI's and 2 stolen bases to lead the Monarch hitters.  Kloey Hamblen had 2 hits, including her first varsity homerun, and 4 RBI's.  Emmie Wills had 2 hits including a triple with a run and an RBI.  Haley Wilwerding had 2 hits including a double, a stolen base and 3 runs scored.  Morgan Byrd also had 2 hits.  Kamira Botos had a hit and a walk, 3 runs and an RBI.  Emma McGrath had a walk, 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.  Kaelyn Hamblen had 1 hit and 2 RBI's.  Eden Ford had a hit and 2 runs scored.  Sofia Hurst also walked and scored a run.  Sydney Kotz had a walk, 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.  Carly Bertolini picked up the win in the circle in relief of Amanda Gibilsco with save going to Grace Anderson.  Gibilisco had a strikeout and Bertolini had 2.  

Carly Bertolini threw a complete game 7 hitter with 5 strikeouts leading the Monarchs to the win in game 1 of the District 7 tournament.  The Navigators put up a couple of late inning threats but were stopped by two excellent defensive plays in center field by Emmie Wills and another in right field by Emma McGrath.  Alex Stoner and Morgan Byrd each had 2 hits and an RBI to pace the Monarch hitters.  Haley Wilwerding and Kamira Botos each hit a double and scored with Botos picking up an RBI.  Kloey Hamblen had a 2 RBI triple.  Other hits by Kaelyn Hamblen and McGrath.  Wills added a stolen base and a run scored.  Stoner also scored.  Sydney Kotz stole two bases as a courtesy runner.  

Kamira Botos had 2 hits and 4 RBI's including a game ending 3 run homerun in the 3rd inning.  Emmie Wills and Kloey Hamblen each had 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI's.  One of Wills's hits was a triple.  Hamblen had a double and stolen base.  Alex Stoner had a triple, a stolen base, a run and an RBI.  Haley Wilwerding had a stolen base and a run.  Emma McGrath added a hit, two stolen bases and a run scored.     Eden Ford had a hit, a stolen base and a run scored .  Maddy Delos Reyes reach on a walk and scored a run.  Sydney Kotz had 2 runs scored.  Morgan Byrd reached twice on walks.  Grace Anderson earned the win in the circle with a 1 hitter, striking out 4 in 3 innings.  

Haley Wilwerding hit a game ending two run homerun as the Monarchs scored 8 runs in the 5th inning  and won the District A-7 tournament, sending the Monarchs to the Nebraska State Tournament for a state record 29th consecutive year.  Wilwerding had 3 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBI's on the day.  Emmie Wills also had 3 hits, including 2 doubles , 2 runs and 3 RBI's.  Kamira Botos had 2 hits, a stolen base, a run and an RBI.  Sofia Hurst had a pinch hit 2 RBI single.  Alex Stoner had a hit and an RBI.  Other hits by Morgan Byrd, Emma McGrath and Maddy Delos Reyes.  Sydney Kotz had a stolen base and a run scored.  Eden Ford reach base on a hit by pitch and scored.  Kloey Hamblen reach on a walk and scored.  Delos Reyes added a stolen base and 2 runs scored.  The other runs were scored by McGrath and Peyton Hoelscher.  Carly Bertolini earned the win in the circle striking out 3 in 4 innings.   Grace Anderson earned the save in relief and had 1 strikeout.  

After being down by 4 runs after 2 innings, the Monarch bats came to life scoring 3 runs in the 3rd inning, 8 runs in the 5th inning and another 3 runs in the 7th inning.  The girls hit 5 homeruns and 3 doubles among their 16 hits.  Alex Stoner and Haley Wilwerding each hit 2 homeruns.  Eden Ford hit the other one.  Emmie Wills had 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 RBI's and a stolen base.  Stoner had 5 RBI's and also reached base on a walk.  Wilwerding also singled and had 3 RBI's.  Ford also hit a single and walked, had 3 runs, a stolen base and and 3 RBI's.  Kamira Botos had 2 hits, a stolen base and a run scored.  Emma McGrath and Maddy Delos Reyes each doubled.  Kloey Hamblen had a single.  Delos Reyes and Hamblen also scored.  Carly Bertolini, who had 4 strikeouts, picked up the win in the circle in relief of Grace Anderson, who had 3 strikeouts.  

The Monarchs came up short in a rematch with the Dragons.  Emmie Wills picked up 3 hits, giving her 7 on the day.  Alex Stoner and Hayley Wilwerding each had 2 hits.  Other hits by Kamira Botos, Kloey Hamblen, Emma McGrath and Maddy Delos Reyes.  Hamblen and Eden Ford each walked twice.  Wills, Stoner, Wilwerding and Delos Reyes scored the runs.  Wilwerding, Botos and Ford had RBI's.  Carly Bertolini and Grace Anderson Shared the pitching duties, with Bertolini going 7 innings and had 7 strikeouts in the loss.  

Grace Anderson pitched a 4 hitter giving up only 2 runs with 2 strikeouts to earn the win in the circle.  She was helped by great defensive plays in the field by Haley Wilwerding and Emma McGrath and herself.  Emmie Wills picked up three hits and a run.  Alex Stoner had 2 hits and a run.  McGrath also had 2 hits.  Wilwerding had a hit a run and an RBI.  Morgan Byrd had a hit, a walk and an RBI.  Eden Ford had a hit and 2 RBI's.  Maddy Delos Reyes had a hit and an RBI.  Kloey Hamblen walked twice and scored a run.  Sydney Kotz had a stolen base and two runs scored as a courtesy runner.  Kamira Botos had an RBI.  

The Monarchs season came to and end with a 4 place finish in the tournament.  Emmie Wills had 2 two more hits giving her 12 in the 4 games.  Alex Stoner had 2 hits, including her third homerun of the tournament, a walk, 2 runs and 2 RBI's.  Emma McGrath also had 2 hits, a stolen base and a run.   Haley Wilwerding had a hit and an RBI.  Maddy Delos Reyes also had a hit.  Eden Ford had a bases loaded walk for an RBI.  Morgan Byrd also walked.  Carly Bertolini, Grace Anderson and Amanda Gibilisco shared the pitching duties, totaling 7 strikeouts.
