Monarchs In The NCAA Women's College World Series / Olympics

The Monarch softball program has had dozens of girls who have continued their playing careers at the college level.  Papillion-LaVista High School, the administration, players and coaches are proud to have had 4 of these former players represent their schools in the NCAA Division 1 Women's College World Series.


Two Monarch graduates played for the 2001 Division II National Champion University Of Nebraska At Omaha.  Information to be added soon.  


In 2019, the Monarch softball program became the second school sport (after volleyball) to have a former player selected to play in the Olympic games.

Jordyn Bahl - Class of 2020

06/08/23 - Jordy completed her sophomore year at Oklahoma by leading the Sooners to their 3rd straight National Championship.  The team finished the season with a 61-1 record and an NCAA record 53 game winning streak.   She finished the year with a 22-1 pitching record with  a 0.91 ERA and 4 Saves.  She also had a .406 batting average.  She was named Most Outstanding Player of the WCWS and a First Team All-American.


06/13/22 - Jordyn completed her Freshman year at the University of Oklahoma, and was part of the  pitching staff that helped the Sooners win the 2022 WCWS.  The Sooners repeated as the Division 1 National Champions, in which Jordyn was the winning pitcher in the championship game.  She finished the year with a 22-1 record, helping the Sooners to an NCAA record 40 game winning streak, and 59-3 final season record.

Karissa Hovinga - Class of 2011

Karissa attended the University of Oregon and pitched for the Ducks in the 2012, 2014 and 2015 WCWS.


In 2019, Karissa was selected as an alternate to play for Team Canada in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Peaches James

Peaches attended the University of Nebraska and pitched for the Cornhuskers in the 2002 WCWS.

Megan Southworth - Class of 2009

Megan attended the University of Nebraska and played for the Cornhuskers in the 2013 WCWS.

Leigh Suhr - Class of 1998

Leigh attended the University of Nebraska and played for the Cornhuskers in the 2002 WCWS.

Tiffany Jones - Class of 1998

Tiffany attended the University of Nebraska At Omaha.  She was on the pitching staff that led the Mavericks to the 2001 NCAA Division II National Championship.  

Sarah Scheppers - Class of 1999

Sarah attended the University of Nebraska At Omaha.  The Mavericks won the 2001 NCAA Division II National Championship.
