August 18th / PLHS 1 - Millard North 2 - The Monarchs were down 2-1 when the game was suspended due to
darkness in the 5th inning.  The game was determined to be an official game the following day.  Gina Metzler and Ashley
Schilling recorded the Monarchs only hits.
August 20th - Beat Cancer With A Bat Fund Raiser
August 20th - JV / PLHS 8 - Millard West 0
August 20th - Varsity / PLHS 1 - Millard West 6
The Monarchs had an early lead before falling to the Wildcats.  Taylor Wachholtz singled in pinch runner Jordan
Kimball for the Monarchs only run.
August 23rd / PLHS 7 - Lincoln East 1
The Monarchs were leading 1-0 in the 2nd inning when the game was suspended due to lighting.  Gina Metzler
scored on a double steal with Kelsey Whipple.  The game resumed on Thursday, August 25th.   Katie Petersen
has two hits including a double, Gina Metzler had 2 hits and three stolen bases.  Julia Anderson picked up
her first high school pitching victory. 
August 26th / PLHS 4 - Omaha Burke 3
Ashley Schilling had two hits and two RBI including the game winning hit.  Kelsey Whipple had two hits
including a double.  Lexi Murphy added a double.  Amanda Butera had a huge single to lead off the bottom
of the last inning.  Pinch Runner Jordan Kimble scored from second on Schilling's hit. 
August 27th / PLHS 4 - Millard West 0
In a rematch of a game from the previous weekend, Taylor Wachholtz singled in two runs and Gina Metzler
added a run scoring single to lead the Monarchs.  Julia Anderson pitched the shutout. 
August 27th / PLHS 1 - Papillion LaVista South 3
Ashley Schilling had two hits and scored the Monarchs only run.  Gina Metzler added a single and a triple.
The Monarchs placed second in the Marian Invite.
August 31st / PLHS 12 - Bellevue West 7
This game was scheduled to be played the previous day and had been cancelled due to rain. 
Julia Andersen and Gina Metzler had 4 hits each and Ashley Schilling had a 3 RBI triple in the first
inning.  Andersen also pitched a complete game.
September 1st / PLHS vs. Omaha North
The game was postponed due to the high temperature and humidity in the Omaha area.  The game has
been rescheduled for September 7th at Omaha North High School.
September 3rd / Millard North Invitational
The games were cancelled due overnight and morning rain in the Omaha area.  The
Monarchs were scheduled to play 3 games in this tournament. 
September 6th / PLHS 0 - Millard South 5
Julia Andersen had 2 hits including a double for the Monarchs.
September 7th - JV / PLHS 21 - Omaha North 5
September 7th / PLHS 12 - Omaha North 0
Lexi Murphy was 2 for 2 with a double and 4 RBI and Lauren McNeil was also 2 for 2 to lead the
Monarchs.  Taylor Pudenz pitched a one hit shutout to pick up her first varsity win.
September 8th / PLHS 13 - Omaha Northwest 0
Kelsey Whipple hit a 2 run triple to lead a 10 run first inning.  Amanda Butera was 2 for 2 with
2 RBI.  Taylor Pudenz pitched her second shutout in two days.  
September 10th / PLHS 7 - Omaha North 0
Julia Andersen pitched a shutout.  Gina Metzler, Kylie Schwarting and Kelsey
Whipple all had 2 hits.  Lexi Murphy had 3 RBI.
September 10th / PLHS 2 - Millard South 3
Ashley Schilling was 3 for 3.  Kylie Schwarting and Kelsey Whipple scored the
only runs. 
September 14th / PLHS 14 - Bellevue East 2
Kelsey Whipple tripled and scored two runs, Lauren Tanner and Kiley Schwarting each
scored twice, and Emily Drummy singled in her first at-bat of the season.  Taylor
Pudenz pitched and won the game for the Monarchs.
September 16th / PLHS 8 - Millard North 0
Taylor Wachholtz and Ashley Schilling were 2 for 2.  Julia Andersen pitched a 1 hit shutout. 
September 16th / PLHS 3 - Lincoln Southwest 6
Julia Andersen was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI's, and Katie Petersen was 2 for 2 with an RBI.
September 17th / PLHS 11 - Kearney 1
Lauren McNeil, Gina Metzler, Ashley Schilling, Taylor Wachholtz and Kelsey Whipple
all batted in runs the Monarchs. 
September 17th / PLHS 5 - Papillion-LaVista South 6 (8 Innings)
Gina Metzler had two hits for the Monarchs
September 20th / PLHS 9 - Papillion-LaVista South 1
Ashley Schilling was 3 for 3 with an inside the park 2 run homerun and 5 RBI's, Katie Petersen
was also 3 for 3 with a double, and Julie Andersen struck out 8 hitters for the Monarchs.
September 24th / PLHS 7 - Lincoln East 3
Amanda Butera was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's/  Kylie Schwarting and Gina Metzler added two
hits each for the Monarchs. 
September 24th / PLHS 3 - Omaha Marian 7
Lexi Murphy and Kylie Schwarting had two hits each. 
September 24th / PLHS 6 - Lincoln Piux X - 2
Gina Metzler had three hits, Kylie Schwarting, Taylor Wachholtz and Kelsey Whipple each had
two hits each to lead the Monarchs.
September 27th / PLHS 5 - Omaha Burke 1
Kylie Schwarting and Julia Anderson had two hits each to pace the Monarch offense. 
Andersen also struck out 8 hitters and pitched a complete game.
September 29th / PLHS 7 - Omaha Marian 0
All of the Monarch seniors contributed to the win, led by Kelsey Whipple and Ashley
Schilling with three hits each.  Emily Drummy added a solo homerun.  Julia Andersen pitched a
complete game shutout. 
October 1st / PLHS 14 - Lincoln Southeast 0
Ashley Schilling was 4 for 4, Katie Petersen was 3 for 4, Kelsey Whipple hit an inside the park 2-run
homerun, and Lauren Tanner hit a 2-run double.  Julia Andersen pitched the first 6 innings, with Taylor
Pudenz pitching the 7th inning to complete the shutout. 
October 4th / PLHS 7 - Omaha Westside 3
Amanda Butera had a bunt single to drive in the go-ahead run, and Emily Drummy followed
with another RBI bunt single that started a 6-run 7th inning for the Monarchs.
October 6th / PLHS 8 - Norfolk 0
Katie Petersen had 3 hits, Gina Metzler had 2 hits, and Julie Andersen hit a homerun to lead
the Monarchs.  Andersen and Taylor Pudenz combined to pitch the shutout.
October 6th / PLHS 6 - Lincoln Southeast 7 (10 innings)
Amanda Butera had 2 hits including a 2 run double and Lexi Murphy also had two RBI's.
Katie Petersen added an RBI double in extra innings, and Kelsey Whipple added 2 hits
and thanks to on target throws from the outfielders tagged four runners out at the plate
in the late innings.
October 7th / PLHS 8 - Norfolk 0
Ashley Schilling had 2 hits and 2 RBI's, Katie Petersen added 2 RBI's and Julia
Andersen hit a run scoring double.  Andersen and Taylor Pudenz combined to pitch the shutout.
October 7th / PLHS 0 - Lincoln Southeast 5
Amanda Butera and Julia Andersen had the Monarchs only hit.
October 12th / PLHS 5 - Papillion-LaVista South 4 (10 innings)
Ashley Schilling drove in a first inning run on an infield single and Taylor Wachholtz singled in a run
in the 8th inning.  Katie Petersen, Gina Metzler and Kelsey Whipple each had RBI singles in
the top of a 3 run 10th inning.  The Titans put up two runs in the bottom of the 10th but the
Monarchs held on for the win.  Julia Andersen struck out 14 Titan hitters.
October 13th / PLHS 9 - Lincoln Southwest 8
Kelsey Whipple and Gina Metzler led a balanced Monarch attack with two hits each.  Whipple
doubled, hit a three run homerun and added a sacrifice fly for 4 RBI's, Metzler tripled in Emily
Drummy with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th and added a single earlier in the game.
Drummy and Julia Andersen also doubled during the game. 
October 13th / PLHS 4 - Millard South 5
Ashley Schilling had 3 hits, and Taylor Wachholtz and Gina Metzler added two hits each. 
October 14th / PLHS 5 - Lincoln Southwest 13
Taylor Wachholtz had two hits and Gina Metzler added a double.
Congratulations, Thank You and Goodbye to the Seniors of 2011 - 2012.  During their time, the Monarchs earned 4 State
Tournament appearances, finishing as the State Runner Up in 2008 and winning the 2010 State Championship.

Congratulations to Coach Todd Petersen for being named as the head coach for the Nebraska Coaches
Association All-Star Games held at Bowlin Field in Lincoln on July 25, 2012.  In addition to Coach Petersen,
three of our seniors were selected to participate in the games.  Those seniors were Katie Petersen,
Ashley Schilling and Kelsey Whipple.

Congratulations to Matti Foster, Katie Petersen, Ashley Schilling and Kelsey Whipple for
signing letters of intent to continue their education and play softball at the college level.
